What is Safe-T-Bleed? OSHA-Compliant Hydraulic De-Energization.
Safe-T-Bleed is a unique safety system developed specifically for hydraulic systems. After an exhaustive study on hydraulic system design, start-up, repair and operational practices, Safe-T-Bleed was designed to solve three main safety concerns: OSHA lockout/tagout compliance, safe air-bleed and haphazard pressure checks.
Less than one percent of hydraulic systems comply with OSHA lockout and tagout standard with respect to de-energization and verification. Safe-T-Bleed brings simple, easy-to-install and easy-to-use OSHA compliance to all hydraulic systems.
The majority of component air-bleeding, especially hydraulic cylinders, is conducted by exhaustive pressurized oil to atmosphere. Dangerous de-energization also often occurs during routine pressure checks that require connectors to be loosened to install test pressure gauges. This is a major safety concern, as high pressure oil can cause skin-penetration injuries leading to serious burns, debilitating health problems, eye injury, blindness or even death. Discharged oil also presents a fire hazard and is damaging to the environment. Safe-T-Bleed allows for safe and reliable de-energization and pressure monitoring without discharging oil to atmosphere.
